Eyelid
Surgery, or Blepharoplasty, is a common
cosmetic surgical procedure to attain aesthetically-pleasing
or younger-looking eye appearance. This is achieved
via the reshaping of upper or lower eyelids
by the removal or repositioning of excess tissue
as well as by reinforcement of surrounding muscles
and tendons.
With Blepharoplasty, we can create dramatic
aesthetic results in the eye areas, including
creating an upper eyelid with a crease (also
known as “double eyelid”) or removing
puffiness or eye bags beneath the eyes.
The Blepharoplasty procedure can be performed
through external incisions made along the natural
skin lines of the eyelids or from the inside
surface of the lower eyelid. Generally, the
former is utilised for matured patients and
the latter for younger patients. In many instances,
Blepharoplasty is accompanied by a browlift
in order to achieve optimum youthful appearance.
