Breast
Reduction can be carried out for men
suffering from excess breast development, a
condition which is known as Gynecomastia. Whilst
Gynecomastia is generally not physically harmful,
it tends to have psychological or social-disrupting
effect. This procedure can help restore confidence
in male patients by helping them attain firmer,
flatter chest appearance that one would normally
associate with masculinity.
Generally, the surgical
procedure for breast reduction in men involves
the removal of fat, skin and glandular tissues
from the breasts, very much like Reduction Mammoplasty
for women. In certain cases, liposuction may
also be introduced to liquefy and remove large
amount of fatty issues. However, this approach
is usually reserved for men with firm, elastic
skin that will stick to the body’s reshaped
contour once the fat has been removed.
At NICANOR, we commonly
use VASER LipoSelection®, an ultrasound-assisted
liposuction system that uses sound waves to
emulsify fatty tissues prior to its extraction.
This process allows us to achieve the desired
breast reduction results minus the long surgical
scars usually associated with procedures of
this nature.
